Merdot 1.0 is Merdot's own model: fine-tuned by Merdot, on Merdot's priorities, for the way people in India work and study. It is the most capable assistant Merdot has shipped and the experience at the centre of Merdot AI, built for the work people actually do: drafting, summarising, analysis, planning, study and creation, with the reasoning shown alongside the answer rather than hidden behind it.

It reads whole documents, not excerpts. It answers in the language you ask in, at the same quality in Hindi or Gujarati as in English. It produces real files. And it ships with agents for the tasks people repeat every day, so the second time is faster than the first.

It is available today to every Merdot AI user on the web, on Android and on iOS, at no additional cost, and free to students at recognised institutions.

The model

Merdot 1.0 is a model Merdot fine-tuned itself. Rather than passing requests through to a general-purpose service unchanged, Merdot shaped the model around the tasks its users bring every day: long Indian-language documents, study material, business writing and structured analysis.
